Lakhs of workers marched to Parliament on 23 rd February 2011 against the price rise,violation of labor rights to workers, against contract system and hike of minimum wages. Thousands of forest workers, forest people, agriculture workers, contract workers from UP, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh participated under the banner of NTUI and NFFPFW. The participation was to show the solidarity with the working class. The strength of NTUI and NFFPFW together was more than 5000 people.
In the evening a march was also taken to Parliament to protest against the illegal arrest of Binayak Sen, the tribal women also protested against the illegal arrest of Ramshakal Gond activist of NFFPFW from Sonbhadra with bow and arrows. This participation with the trade unions brought lot of strength to the forest people and forest workers.
